Requirements
What to Build
Participants are not expected to develop complex AI products or models! Rather, we expect them to try to use large language models(i.e. ChatGPT, GPT-3, Google's BERT, etc.) to help increase inclusivity. Don't worry if you haven't heard of some of those models, we will have plenty of workshops and resources where we explain how to use such models. Some areas they can focus on inside of inclusivity are
- Disability Access
- Tackling Bias
- Mental Health
- Low-Resource Languages/Breaking Linguistic Barriers
- Any other area of inclusivity you're interested in!
Remember, inclusivity is a broad term, so feel free to use your imagination! Furthermore, large language models like GPT-3 don't need to be the core part of your project, but they should help improve your project.
Once again, don't worry if you aren't exactly sure what large language models are or how to use them, we will provide plenty of resources and workshops on this topic throughout this hackathon. Currently, we have some useful resources on our resources page that will help you get started!
Hackathon Submission Guidelines and Rules
1) The project must be your own work.
2) All your core project code must be written during the hackathon. It's fine if you want to use an idea you had before, but it must not be one you have developed code for, submitted to any other event, or fleshed out in any way.
3) All submissions should be done through devpost and include each team member
4) All submissions must include a link to a GitHub Repository with their code
5) All submissions must include a link to a YouTube video going over their project. It's highly recommended that you discuss your project's potential impact, how you built it, and a demonstration of your project running. All videos must be less than four minutes long. Be sure to mention what problem your solving with your project or what area of inclusivity your project aims to address. Also, make sure to highlight what you use large language models for. All team members do not need to be present in the video.
6) Take a look at the judging rubric for more information about what we are looking for
7) Our opening ceremony slides include more details about what we're looking for (for the category-specific prizes)
8) Our resources tab includes some useful resources for getting started with large language models GPT-3.
Ideathon Submission Guidelines and Rules
1) The projects should be your own work.
2) All submissions should be done through devpost and include each team member
3) It's recommended that you design your project using no code tools. You can use tools like Figma or Google Drawings to do just that!
4) All submissions must include a link to a YouTube video going over their project. It's highly recommended that you discuss your project's potential impact, and a demonstration of your progress so far(i.e. any designs, presentations, descriptions, etc). We're especially interested in seeing possible project designs using tools like Figma. Be sure to mention what problem your project could solve or what area of inclusivity your project could address. Also, make sure to highlight what you would use large language models for. All team members do not need to be present in the video. All videos must be less than four minutes long.
5) Take a look at the judging rubric for more information about what we are looking for
